Dedicated to Amateur Radio and its use in public service

Welcome, I am an Amateur Extra ham radio enthusiast living near Portland Oregon.  I am active in HF, UHF, VHF home based, mobile, satellite and a member of Washington County ARES.

ARES stands for Amateur Radio Emergency Services.  The group provides communication services in the event of a major emergency.  These communications links can be found on HF, VHF and UHF.  ARES members are there to provide critical links for communications.

Life Long Learning

One of the great things about Ham Radio is that there is always plenty to learn about.  One of the best ways to keep your mind sharp is to continue to learn and keep involved in your community.  Ham radio gives you many opportunities to do both.

"I don't know, it seems like some sort of evil magic to me.  I don't trust radios, I use my cell phone instead."
